Wooden Challenging Toy
This Nina Ottosson Dog Tornado will challenge your dog! There are four layers to this turning spinning puzzle! Each layer has a cutout on each side. The top layer is the cover. Each additional layer has 4 insets for you to put treats in. All of these layers turn. Your dog has to line the cutouts up with the insets to get the treats out! (Make sure you see all of the fun Nina Ottosson dog problem solving puzzles.) Norman thinks this one is a lot of fun! The Dog Tornado is almost 9 inches in across and is over 2 inches high.

Norman likes trying these toys -- whenever there is a treat involved, he is ready to try anything. You can see him try to figure out each one and what he is suppose to do to earn the treat. Betsy is not interested in these puzzles. I think that is because she is not food motivated and so she is not willing to waste her brainpower on these puzzles. However, she does watch Norman do them -- I fully expect that one day she will walk over and solve each one without any practice. We love our Betsy!

These toys are designed to challenge your dog, stimulate its problem solving ability and an outlet for its energy. These Brain Activity toys/games are easy to get out and fun to use for both you and your dog. Don"t leave your other pets out of the fun -- these are great for cats, rats, and all pets. Remember, this is an interactive and NOT a chew toy.

A brilliant way to engage your dog's learning skills!!!, 2.6.2009

We already knew that Nuit a smarty pants border collie, but we were amazed at how quickly he jumped on this puzzle when it arrived yesterday, and figured it out. So today we followed Nina's suggestions and upped the ante, blocking every other hole with balled up paper, making it harder to move the layers and giving him more to think about, and use his paws to move and dig. We've also added a command, "search", when he starts digging in. Tonight I'm digging up some poker chips to place on top of the treat in each hole. That way he can't just stick in his snout and eat the treat...he'll have to get the chip out while the tornado spins. Then we'll move on to inserting thick dowel pegs in holes to lock the layers, so he has to remove the pegs to get it spinning at all. And then we'll train him to put the pegs in a bowl before he can spin for the treats. And then........ There is simply no better toy source than BFGS!! Nuit's mom, Bea
